Employment Opportunities for Students
Working in the Center for Writing is much more than a job, it's an excellent educational experience.
Working with other students on their writing helps you improve your own.
To become a peer writing consultant,
you need to:

be an undergraduate from any major at UST or a graduate student in the Masters Program in English at UST
-
care about writing
-
have had experience working with your peers on their writing, preferably in classes
-
will commit to work with us for at least one year
-
have a professor speak on your behalf as a writer and student
-
be personable, flexible, and able to think on your feet
-
take a 4 credit writing course that prepares in the fall when you start working in the Center
-
fill out an application or talk to the Director or any of the peer consultants who are working now!
As a peer writing consultant, you'll have a flexible work schedule and
excellent experience that prepares you for careers in writing and teaching
at many different levels. Peer consultants have also gone on to law
school, graduate school, and the Peace Corps.
Peer consultants are hired during the spring semester to start the
following fall. Applications are available beginning in February of
